2 revived, 2 arrested in separate drug-related incidents on I-43

MILWAUKEE COUNTY -- Deputies responded to two freeway incidents involving drug-related crimes in two days in Milwaukee County.

The first happened Saturday, Jan. 20 around 11:45 p.m. According to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to a reported overdose on I-43 northbound near Lapham Blvd. Officials say a man and woman were found "passed out" in a vehicle in the grassy area of the distress lane. Both were unresponsive and the vehicle was running.

Milwaukee Fire Department paramedics administered Narcan to both people, and they both regained consciousness.

The second incident happened Monday evening, Jan. 22. Officials say around 7:40 p.m., a deputy on I-43 northbound pulled over a speeding vehicle near Winnebago St. that was tracked going 65 miles-per-hour in a 50 miles-per-hour zone.

Sheriff's officials said the deputy could smell marijuana while talking to the driver of the vehicle, and spotted what appeared to be weed sticking out of his pocket.

The driver, identified as a 24-year-old Milwaukee man, exited the vehicle and produced two quart-sized bags of marijuana and was placed under arrest.

A passenger in the vehicle, a 20-year-old Milwaukee man, was also found with marijuana on him and was arrested. Officials say the passenger was out on $750 bail for another drug-related case with a condition that he not possess any controlled substance without a valid prescription.

The driver of the vehicle informed deputies he was a CCW license holder and that he had a gun in the vehicle. While searching for the weapon, the deputy found a mason jar full of marijuana and a scale.
