"Homicides are down around 20% with compared to this time last year," said Mayor Cavalier Johnson. "Are we relaxing our efforts? Certainly not. Our police department, they want to drive these numbers down. But it's much more than police. It takes all of us working together. That includes neighborhood groups, includes churches, includes youth serving organizations, that includes the city's Office of Community Wellness and Safety."
