21-year-old man arrested for OWI after he crashed his vehicle; engine thrown from car
WASHINGTON COUNTY -- A 21-year-old Town of Addison man was arrested for second offense operation while intoxicated after he crashed his vehicle into trees on Wildlife Rd. south of State Highway 33 on Sunday evening, September 11th.
A post on the Washington County Sheriff's Office's Facebook page said initially it was thought there was another passenger in the vehicle based upon the driver's report. However, after checking by deputies and Allenton firefighters with a thermal imager, a second occupant was not located.
It turns out, the force of the impact caused the engine of the vehicle to be thrown from the car. At the time of the report, the engine still had not been found.
The driver was transported but did not have life threatening injuries.
