23-year-old Racine man dies in crash involving his motorcycle, two other vehicles
MOUNT PLEASANT -- A 23-year-old Racine man died on Tuesday afternoon, June 9th in a crash involving his motorcycle and two vehicles.
It happened shortly after 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of State Highway 31 (N. Green Bay Road) and State Highway 38 (Northwester Avenue) in Mount Pleasant.
Police say an officer arrived on scene within two minutes of being notified of the crash, and an off-duty paramedic stopped at the scene to help.
The 23-year-old man who was operating the motorcycle died. Police say he was not wearing a helmet.
A preliminary investigation has revealed a 69-year-old Mount Pleasant woman was headed northbound before she attempted to turn left through the intersection. Her vehicle collided with the motorcycle that was headed southbound.
It is believed both drivers had a green light when the crash occurred.
A second collision occurred when the motorcycle then collided with a vehicle stopped at the intersection.
The 69-year-old woman was taken to the hospital for treatment. She is expected to survive.
The driver of the third vehicle was not injured.
This crash is being investigated by Mount Pleasant police and the Wisconsin State Patrol – Crash Reconstruction Unit. No charges have been issued at this time, pending the results of the investigation.
