23-year-old woman quickly arrested after retail theft at Walmart store on Brown Deer Road

BROWN DEER -- Brown Deer police say a suspect was quickly arrested for a retail theft that happened at the Walmart store on Brown Deer Road.

The retail theft happened on Monday, February 1st shortly before 3:00 p.m.

Police responded to the store for a retail theft in progress. Walmart "Asset Protection" individuals attempted to stop an individual who was observed stealing clothing.

Police say the suspect brandished a small pocket knife and stated she had the right to stab Asset Protection officials if they would not let go of her personal property.

An Asset Protection employee raised his hands and told the woman to leave -- and police were then called.

The suspect vehicle was located in Brown Deer. A traffic stop was conducted near 60th and Donna Drive.

A 23-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for robbery and possession of a controlled substance (THC).

Merchandise stolen from the Walmart store was recovered from the vehicle, along with a box cutter and a pocket knife.

Officers also recovered marijuana from the glove box.

No one was hurt.

The case will be reviewed by the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office for charges.
