2,300+ positive for COVID-19 in Wisconsin; 25K+ negative, 75 deaths

MADISON -- Officials with the Wisconsin Department of Health Services on Sunday, April 5 reported 2,267 positive cases of COVID-19 in the state, and 25,169 negative tests. DHS officials noted of those positive cases, 624 required hospitalization (28%).

The Milwaukee County coronavirus dashboard showed 1,190 positive cases in Milwaukee County as of Sunday afternoon, and 39 deaths in the county.

That's an additional 42 cases from the 1,148 listed by the state for Milwaukee County (as of 9 p.m. Saturday).

Dane County health officials reported an additional 11 cases Sunday (280 vs. 269 listed by the state), plus one additional death.

Sheboygan County health officials reported one additional case (22 vs. 21 reported by the state), plus one additional death.

Washington County health officials reported one additional case (58 vs. 57 listed by the state).

Health officials in Buffalo County reported the first COVID-19 death Sunday, and officials in Rock County reported a second death.

That brings us to a statewide total of 2,322 confirmed cases of COVID-19. There have been 75 deaths in the state.
