MADISON — The total positive cases of coronavirus in Wisconsin rose to 2,578 on Tuesday, April 7, officials with the Wisconsin Department of Health Services reported. DHS officials reported of the positive cases, 745 have required hospitalization (29%). There have been 92 deaths in the state. DHS officials reported 28,512 negative tests in the state. Despite requests, state health officials are not providing data on the number of patients who have recovered at this time.
Milwaukee County’s coronavirus dashboard showed 1,387 positive cases in the county Tuesday afternoon, and 51 deaths. The state reported 1,323 positive cases in Milwaukee County, and 49 deaths (as of 9 p.m. Monday).
Health officials in Dane County reported an additional 14 positive cases Tuesday (up to 303 vs. 289 listed by the state).
Health officials in Kenosha County reported an additional 15 positive cases Tuesday (up to 129 vs. 112 listed by the state).
In Sheboygan County, health officials reported an additional two positive cases Tuesday (up to 32 vs. 30 listed by the state).
Washington Ozaukee health officials reported an additional four positive cases in each county Tuesday (70 vs. 66 listed by the state in Ozaukee and 63 vs. 59 listed by the state in Washington).
The additional 89 confirmed positive cases brings the statewide total to 2,681.
In Columbia and Lafayette Counties, DHS officials on Tuesday confirmed the first COVID-19 related deaths.
In Ozaukee County, health officials confirmed one new death Tuesday.
The additional three deaths brings the statewide total to 95.
