27 men and women part of first class of Milwaukee Co. sheriff's deputies to graduate since 2003

MILWAUKEE COUNTY -- Tuesday, January 12th was graduation day for Milwaukee County's newest sheriff's deputies.

Twenty-seven men and women were part of the first class to graduate since 2003.

The ceremony took place at the War Memorial Center on Lincoln Memorial Drive.

The recruits had to complete 760 hours of training to earn their badges.

"It's really about service. It's really about public service -- and they work for the people and the people demand a lot, rightfully so. I know that they'll perform and I'm proud of what they've accomplished in the last 20 weeks," Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke said.
