28-year-old man killed in OWI-related crash on I-43
MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee County Sheriff's officials say a 28-year-old Appleton man was killed after on I-43 southbound Sunday morning, September 9th in an OWI-related crash.
Officials say Terrell Norwood was the driver and sole occupant of a vehicle that failed to negotiate the curve on southbound I-43 at the National Avenue off-ramp, traversed a ditch, and crossed the 9th Street and Mineral on-ramp, landing in a grassy area south of the ramp.
Norwood was unconscious and unresponsive at the scene.
Officials say Norwood did not have a valid driver’s license.
Deputies determined that this was a first-offense OWI situation, and found empty liquor bottles inside the vehicle.
Norwood was transported to Froedtert Hospital by the Milwaukee Fire Department for life-threatening injuries. He was pronounced dead at 7:30 p.m.
