41-year-old Milwaukee man arrested for second DUI offense
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- 41-year-old Daniel Hottinger of Milwaukee was arrested Tuesday, October 15th for his second DUI with a children in the vehicle and recklessly endangering safety.
According to police, Hottinger approached a deputy at General Mitchel International Airport around 5:45 p.m. after he parked by the baggage claim drive. Police say Hottinger told the deputy "don't touch it," because he planned on the using the restroom.
At that time, the deputy smelled alcohol on the man's breath and noted slurred speech.
Police say Hottinger performed poorly on field sobriety tests and registered a .18 on a intoximeter test.
Hottinger had two children, ages 8 and 9, in the vehicle. The children were booked and looked after by deputies at the airport substation when Child Protective Services did not respond to several calls for almost three hours.
If convicted of all charges, Hottinger could face up to 13 1/2 years in prison.
