49-year-old female inmate found dead in cell at Sheboygan County Detention Center

SHEBOYGAN COUNTY (WITI) -- Sheboygan County Sheriff's officials say an inmate was discovered unresponsive in a cell at the Sheboygan County Detection Center on Wednesday morning, July 30th.

The inmate was discovered around 5:00 a.m.

Emergency resuscitation efforts were performed -- but they were unsuccessful, and the inmate passed away.

The Sheriff has requested the Sheboygan Police Department conduct an investigation into this inmate's death.

The inmate is a 49-year-old woman from the rural Adell area.

No further details have yet been released.
