MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee's 50th annual Veterans Day Parade will be held on Saturday morning, November 9th.
The parade will step off this year from the intersection of Wells Street and Plankinton Avenue at 11 am on Saturday. It concludes at Veterans Park at the lakefront.
This year, veterans from World War II to the present day will participate in the parade. The Grand Marshal is 97-year-old Naomi Horwitz who, because of her frailty, will take part in the parade through an internet connection.
Milwaukee’s Veterans Day Parade began as a smaller, neighborhood recognition. In more recent years it has grown into a downtown event with significant sponsors.
