68-year-old pilot dies in Winnebago Co. plane crash

TOWN OF WINNECONNE, Wis. (AP) -- A 68-yr-old man has died after a small plane crash in Winnebago County.

According to authorities, the crash happened Monday afternoon, August 13th in the Winneconne area, located approximately 20 miles northwest of Oshkosh in northeastern Wisconsin.

Officials don't believe the single-engine plane left the ground.

The pilot was killed, and his name was not released. No one else was aboard.

An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday, and the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board have been notified.
