MILWAUKEE — The number of people in the state testing positive for COVID-19 grew to 8,236 on Monday, May 4, according to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, with 1,621 patients (20%) requiring hospitalization. There have been 341 deaths statewide. More than 80,000 people (80,467) have tested negative.
The Milwaukee County coronavirus dashboard showed 3,331 positive cases and 193 deaths related to the coronavirus in the county as of Monday afternoon.
Additional positive cases reported by health officials Monday brought the statewide total to 8,353. DHS data is as of 9 p.m. the night before.
