'A little wet:' Dodge Co. highway crews monitor rainfall, temps for potential freezing
Crystal Creek Dairy
BEAVER DAM -- The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for Dodge, Fond du Lac and Sheboygan counties set to take effect at 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 19 and continue until 3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20. The NWS said freezing rain is expected, and ice could make for slick roads.
It was a gray, gloomy Monday outside Crystal Creek Dairy in Beaver Dam, but inside, things were sizzling.
"It's a little slower today because of the weather," Thomas Coleman said.

Coleman said he was keeping tabs on the weather on his way into the restaurant Monday morning.
"A little wet. I had to use my wipers a few times here and there but that's about it," Coleman said.

Officials with the Dodge County Highway Safety Commission were also monitoring the February rainfall -- keeping an eye on temperatures and the potential for freezing rain and icing.
"Right now, we're keeping track of the weather," Peter Thompson said. "We certainly don't know when it will change, if it will change from rain to ice."
Thompson said salt trucks were on standby.
"Right now, we're hoping for the weather to stay warm enough where it will all be rain," Thompson said.
Coleman said he'd be sure to take it slow out on the road.
"You never really know what it's like out there," Coleman said.
