RACINE (WITI) -- Racine police say a three-year-old boy who was able to get into a pool at a home on Sunday, August 10th has died at the hospital -- and his death has been ruled an accidental drowning.

Police identify the boy as Austin Lueck.

Police say the boy passed away shortly after 10:30 p.m. Sunday.

Police responded to a home in the 2000 block of Shoop Street on Sunday afternoon -- shortly before 3:00 p.m. for a report of a possible drowning.

At the scene, officers were advised that Lueck had been pulled from a pool at the home.

Lueck didn't have a pulse -- and he wasn't breathing.

Police say the first responding officer to the scene began administering CPR -- which had been initiated by a neighbor and a family member. Rescue crews arrived, continuing lifesaving efforts.

Lueck was taken to the hospital -- and later flown by Flight for Life to Children's Hospital in Milwaukee. There, he was listed in critical condition -- before passing away Sunday night.

Police say this appears to be a tragic accident.

They say the child likely fell into the pool after climbing an exterior support strap.

A family friend has contacted FOX6 -- saying a fund has been established to help the family with funeral expenses.

The fund has been established at U.S. Bank -- and is called the "Lueck Family Fund."

"Please help them with whatever you can. Their world's gone. Their baby boy's gone. I don't know what could be more tragic," family friend Drew Meyers said.
