Airbus A380 to conduct icing tests on new jet engine out of Mitchell Intl. Airport
MILWAUKEE -- Keep your eyes to the skies over Milwaukee for the next couple of weeks. You may see an Airbus A380 soaring overhead -- a plane not typically seen around these parts.
What is the A380 doing in our neck of the world? It will be flying out of Mitchell International Airport for two weeks for icing tests on a new jet engine which will power the A350-1000. You can see that new engine colored pink.
Airport officials say while there will not be any public tours, it will be flying frequently during its time here giving aviation lovers plenty of chances to see it operate. For a great view of the aircraft while it is parked here, check out the sixth floor of the parking garage on the north end!
