(CNN) -- A swimming trunk of a different kind surprised folks when it appeared this weekend at a Florida beach!

It's a sight that took some at the Florida beach by surprise!

An ELEPHANT -- taking a dip in the ocean!

A beach-goer captured the unusual sight on camera in Pinellas County on Saturday, May 17th.

He says he couldn't believe his eyes -- and just had to snap a selfie with the elephant in the background!

Bay News 9 reports the elephant may have been part of a beach birthday party.
