GREENDALE, Wis. - True craftsmanship took center stage in Greendale for the 40th annual Trimborn Farm Harvest of Arts and Crafts on Sunday, Sept. 10.
Food, fellowship and artistry took over Trimborn farm.
"We live close, so we wanted to support the community," said Rob Comp.
Thousands came out to shop and stopped to learn about Milwaukee's long farming history.
"So a lot of people that come here have never been to a farm before, and they don't realize that even Milwaukee was a farming community many, many generations ago," said Executive Director of Milwaukee County Historical Society Ben Barbera.

Barbera said many people attend to step back into the 1800s.
"At the same time, it's on the site of a historic farm that has been around since 1850," said Barbera. "So you can walk through the historic buildings, see the farmhouse and other parts of the farm, as well."

"I've driven by this hundreds of times but never went into the old buildings, so kinda looking forward to that," said Comp.

The funds raised at the Trimborn Farm Harvest of Arts and Crafts go back into the upkeep of the grounds at Milwaukee County's only historic park.
"It helps maintain the buildings and the grounds," Barbera said. "We work with Milwaukee County Parks to keep the place up and running so that people can get that sense of history."
The event had about 4,000 people in attendance.
