Anti-bullying law implemented in Monona, near Madison

MONONA (WITI) -- A bullying tax is now in effect in Monona -- just outside of Madison.

The anti-bullying law was implemented earlier this year.

The law makes it a crime to bully and harass others at school or online. Young bullies, their parents and adults can face fines for bad behavior.

First time offenses will cost about $114.

Subsequent violations will cost almost $180.

The law applies to anyone 12 and older.
