Argument "over the use of a car" leads to fatal stabbing, Milwaukee woman charged

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- 31-year-old Stephanie Harris of Milwaukee was charged on Friday, April 17th with second-degree reckless homicide for her alleged role in the stabbing death of Pedrell Davis.
Officers were dispatched to an apartment building near 13th and Locust shortly before 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 14th. When they arrived on the scene, the criminal complaint says officers "found Harris standing in the hallway and she was crying and screaming. Harris apparently told the officers, 'Where is the ambulance? I don't want him to die. He spit on me, he beat me, I stabbed him, I don't want him to die.'"
The complaint indicates Harris and Davis had been "arguing over the use of a car." Witnesses told police the argument was taking place in a bedroom of an apartment. At some point, Davis left that bedroom. The complaint says, "When Stephanie came out of the bedroom, she had a butcher knife in her hand." Moments later, the complaint indicates Harris stabbed Davis in the chest.
Emergency crews attempted to help Davis -- but he died on the scene.
If convicted, Harris faces up to 25 years in prison and $100,000 in fines.
