ARRESTED: Three taken into custody in connection with July 21st shooting on city's north side
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Three men were arrested by officers from District 3 of the Milwaukee Police Department for their suspected role in a shooting.
According to police, at approximately 7:05 p.m. on July 21st, a 21-year-old Milwaukee man was shot in the leg while was sitting on the steps of a building in the 1900 block of N. 23rd Street.
He was taken to the hospital for the treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Approximately 90 minutes later, officers on patrol saw a vehicle in the 1800 block of N. 18th Street that matched the description that witnesses gave of being involved in the shooting.
The officers approached the vehicle and saw firearms and drugs in the car.
One of the guns had been reported stolen in November of 2013.
The three men inside the car, including the suspected shooter, were taken into custody.
They are a 21-year-old Milwaukee man, a 23-year-old Milwaukee man, and a 23-year-old St. Francis man and could face various charges.
The case will be presented to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
