HARTLAND, Wis. - A group of students at Arrowhead High School have raised more than $11,000 to help victims of Hurricane Helene – and this is just the beginning of their efforts.
"Even though there are separations, people are brought together when it comes to helping," said Cali Rauch and Kayla Kruger, Arrowhead students.

That is the message from students who are part of Arrowhead's National Honor Society. Since September, the students have been raising money for victims of Hurricane Helene.
"Been so amazing to see how much of a reach we've had," said Caden McLaughlin, Arrowhead junior.
The effort started when the students got an email from a woman in the community about helping collect donations for people living in Asheville, North Carolina.
"North Carolina was blindsided by the Hurricane," said Will Hoffman, Arrowhead junior.

The storm dumped record rainfall in Asheville – flooding the streets and buildings across the city. Dozens of people died – homes were destroyed.
"Often times, high school students in Hartland, Wisconsin, we find ourselves so far removed from natural disasters like this," said Gwen Guck, Arrowhead junior.
But that did not stop the students from wanting to help. They have raised more than $11,000 which will go to Buncombe School District in Asheville. District officials tell FOX6 news the money will go to students' education and families trying to rebuild.
"It's been eye-opening to see how much of a difference we can make," said Serena Ball, Arrowhead junior.
Arrowhead's goal is to raise $50,000.
