Azana Salon & Spa plans to reopen on Sat., December 1st

BROOKFIELD -- Azana Salon & Spa is tentatively planning to reopen on Saturday, December 1st. That announcement was made on the business' Facebook page on Monday afternoon, October 29th.

Three people were killed and four others wounded after Radcliffe Haughton walked into the spa on Sunday, October 21st and opened fire. He later took his own life inside the business.

The Azana Facebook post on Monday says: "While the physical building is closed for the rebuilding, customers can continue to support Azana Salon & Spa by booking appointments and purchasing gift cards."

Those appointments can be made and gift cards be bought beginning Tuesday, October 30th.

In a separate statement issued on Monday, Azana owner Tami Gemmell said: "We ask that everyone please continue to keep the victims and their families in their thoughts and prayers. The community's love and support has been so heartwarming...We are so thankful."

Meanwhile, friends and family of Cary Robuck, one of those killed in the shooting, gathered Monday night in Racine for a vigil.

One woman who attended Monday night's vigil told FOX6 News many are still mourning.

The event raised awareness for the Women's Resource Center of Racine County.

"I really see a committment towards ending domestic violence. We have had such a high volume of calls of people reaching out wanting to either fundraise or volunteer for us because of these events," Cherie Griffin with the Women's Resource Center said.

A benefit fund has been set up for the victims of the Azana Salon & Spa. Donations can be made at any Associated Bank branch, or mailed to 1 N. Moorland Road, Brookfield, WI 53005.
