OAK CREEK (WITI) -- Professionals attached metal bands to baby peregrine falcons born at the We Energies power plant in Oak Creek on Tuesday, March 28th. FOX6's Real Milwaukee was at the facility to report on the process.

Banding animals such as the peregrine falcons have important implications for wildlife experts. The technology gives experts the chance to see how far a bird travels during its lifetime and what causes its death.

Also in attendance to view the banding process were fifth graders from Deerfield Elementary, who learned the names of the falcons - Barroness, Melvin, Ariel and Wendell.

The baby falcons are expected to take their first flights at some point during the next three weeks.
