Bernie Sanders, Democratic candidate for president to host town hall meeting in Madison
MADISON -- Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders is coming to Wisconsin to host a town hall meeting in Madison.
The Vermont senator announced on his website that he plans to host an hour-long meeting on Wednesday night, July 1st.
Sanders is mounting an underdog campaign against Hillary Rodham Clinton for the Democratic nomination.
Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, a Republican, is expected to officially launch his presidential campaign within days of Sanders' town hall.
On his website announcing the rally, the Sanders campaign says he intends to talk about getting big money out of politics, income inequality, combatting climate change and making college more affordable.
Sanders has been hosting similar town halls that have attracted large crowds in other liberal bastions across the country, including Minneapolis and Denver.
