Bicyclist struck, injured by hit-and-run driver in Dodge County
DODGE COUNTY -- The Dodge County Sheriff's Office is investigating a hit-and-run crash involving a bicyclist.
It happened Friday night, October 14th on STH 175, north of Meridian Road in the Township of Theresa.
Preliminary investigation shows that a 25-year-old man from Fond Du Lac was northbound on STH 175 on a mountain bike equipped with a front and rear light when he was struck. After the accident, the vehicle continued northbound on STH 175 without stopping to check for injuries or report the crash.
The bicyclist was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Vehicle parts located at the scene indicated the offending vehicle is a 1999-2001 Buick Century with damage to the passenger side. The vehicle should be missing the passenger side mirror and may have other damage consistent with hitting a person on a bicycle.
The Sheriff’s Office is requesting any information on vehicles that match the description above.
Assisting at the scene was Theresa Fire Department, Theresa First Responders, and Theresa PD.
The crash remains under investigation by the Dodge County Crash Investigation Team.
