"Big is here:" 'Ultimate Dinosaurs' exhibit, featuring never-before-seen fossils, opens at MPM
MILWAUKEE -- A new exhibit is roaring into the Milwaukee Public Museum! "Ultimate Dinosaurs" opened on Sunday, February 7th.
FOX6 News was there as "Ultimate Dinosaurs" opened to the public.
Little Wes Adams couldn't contain his excitement.

"My son Wes, who is almost three is a dinosaur fanatic and is really excited to possibly see another T-rex," Megan Adams said.
The dinosaur Wes saw at the Milwaukee Public Museum Sunday is actually bigger than a T-rex.

"Giganotosaurus is T-rex`s bigger, badder cousin. When you look at it, it looks similar to a T-rex but it is longer, it is bigger and it`s got a lot of features that are different," Ellen Censky with the Milwaukee Public Museum said.
The 'Giganotosaurus' is just one of 16 dinosaurs featured in the new "Ultimate Dinosaurs" exhibit.

"Most of these animals reside in the countries where they were found, so that we were able to get this much of them is just an opportunity not to miss," Patricia Coorough Burke with the Milwaukee Public Museum said.
The dinosaur fossils come from places like South America, Northern Africa and even Madagascar -- and many have never been seen before by the public.
The exhibit is built for all ages and boosts many interactive tools through augmented reality.

"That is the way kids learn these days is through interactivity -- plus it allows you to put a whole lot more information into a smaller space," Censky said.
The exhibit has only been to four other locations -- two in the U.S. and two in Canada.
It is only here in Milwaukee until May 15th.

This week, one of the paleontologists who discovered some of the fossils featured in the exhibit will be at the museum for a lecture.
