MILWAUKEE -- Wisconsin-based Cousins Subs is teaming up with the Milwaukee Bucks to ‘Block Out Hunger’—an anti-hunger campaign benefitting Hunger Task Force and food pantries throughout Wisconsin.
The campaign aims to ‘Block Out Hunger’ in two ways. The first being a statewide food drive from March 1st – 31st, in which those who donate three nonperishable food items at any Wisconsin-based Cousins Subs will receive a FREE sub offer & Bucks ticket offer.
Following the food drive, donations will be distributed to food pantries throughout Wisconsin.
Secondly, for every blocked shot the Bucks have throughout the season, Cousins Make It Better Foundation will make a donation to Hunger Task Force—up to $10,000—to support emergency food supplies at pantries statewide.
“Cousins Subs is dedicated to supporting causes that have the greatest impact for the communities it serves,” said Justin McCoy, vice president of marketing at Cousins Subs. “Together with the Bucks and Hunger Task Force, we are able to make a meaningful contribution to the fight against hunger in the state of Wisconsin.”
Cousins and the Bucks chose Hunger Task Force as the beneficiary of the ‘Block Out Hunger’ campaign because it is Milwaukee’s only FREE & Local food bank and Wisconsin’s leading anti-hunger organization. It collects more than 9 million pounds of food a year and delivers it to a network of food pantries, soup kitchens and homeless shelters – again completely free of charge.
“Hunger Task Force is thrilled to partner with Cousins Subs and the Bucks this season. The ‘Block Out Hunger’ campaign is a great way to increase awareness about hunger and to help feed families in communities statewide,” said Sherrie Tussler, executive director of Hunger Task Force. “Let’s continue to cheer on the Bucks and encourage folks to donate generously at Cousins Subs locations.”

Earlier this season, Cousins entered a three-year partnership with the Bucks. As part of the partnership, Cousins is feeding fans local cravings at its in-arena concession located in the concourse of the BMO Harris Bradley Center.
