SHEBOYGAN (WITI) -- Sheboygan police say a body found in Lake Michigan, near Ludington, Michigan on Tuesday, April 15th is believed to be that of Allen Townsend -- who has been missing since December of 2013.
Police say the description of the body found matched closely to Townsend. Contact was made with officials with the Mason County Sheriff's Department in Michigan for identification purposes, and it is believed the body is that of Townsend.
The body was reportedly observed off the shoreline by citizens.
The body was taken to the Mason County Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy.
Sheboygan police have been advised no foul play is suspected -- per the initial examination.
