Bomb Squad called into action after grenade found at Brown Deer home
BROWN DEER -- Brown Deer police and the Milwaukee County Bomb Squad were called out to a home in Brown Deer Wednesday, November 25th after a grenade was found inside the residence.
According to police, around 8:50 a.m. authorities received a call reporting a grenade had been found inside a home on W. Darnel Avenue near E. Grandview Drive.
When Brown Deer police arrived on scene the grenade had been moved outside of the home. With information obtained from the person who located the grenade, a decision was made to have the Milwaukee County Bomb Squad respond.
After further examination by the Bomb Squad, they were able to determine the grenade had previously been fired and was no longer a threat.
Brown Deer Police urge all residents to "leave explosives or military ordinance undisturbed and call the police immediately."
