CALEDONIA (WITI) -- The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Bomb Squad was called to Caledonia on Tuesday, July 23rd to detonate two grenades found in a home in the 4200 block of County Highway H.
Officers were notified about the grenades just after noon on Tuesday -- found by the family of a World War II Navy veteran who had passed away.
The grenades were found in the drawer of a dresser that belonged to the man.
The Milwaukee County Bomb Squad took the grenades behind the house and buried them in the ground before detonating them.
The area where the grenades were found is a rural area.
Sheriff's officials say if people discover these types of devices in their homes, they should immediately contact the Bomb Squad.
