Bomb threat located inside Arrowhead High School, students evacuated from South Campus

HARTLAND -- The Waukesha County Sheriff's Department is investigating a written bomb threat that was located inside Arrowhead High School on Tuesday morning, Feb. 27.

Officials say a deputy assigned to Arrowhead was notified that there was a written bomb threat located inside the school.  A staff member advised the deputy that a student reported seeing what they believed to be a threat inside a room at the South Campus.

After the threat was confirmed by the school administration, they began evacuating the South Campus and moved all students to the North Campus where they were later released for the day.

City of Delafield, Village of Hartland and Village of Chenequa Police Departments as well as the Hartland, Lisbon and Merton Fire Departments responded to the scene to assist.

Additionally, Milwaukee County's Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) K9 Unit responded with three dogs that were utilized to search the South Campus.

Waukesha County sheriff's deputies and Milwaukee County EOD officials cleared the building and parking lots. No bomb or any other suspicious items were located.  At approximately 2 p.m., the campus was deemed safe. Staff coordinated with students to retrieve their belongings.

Classes will resume on Wednesday.
