Bowling alley turns into makeshift shelter day of Sikh temple shooting

OAK CREEK -- After the August 5th Sikh Temple shooting, victims were taken across the street to a bowling alley. The owner of that bowling alley, Al Passehl, says members of the Sikh Temple across the street would occasionally come in to bowl, but he didn't know much about them.

When the first shots were fired Sunday, the bowling alley was about a half hour from opening. Like everyone else near the scene, Passehl was just trying to find out what was going on.

Survivors from the temple and their families then gathered in the bowling alley's banquet halls. Passehl says it was emotional, but wouldn't share details. The business owner says he did nothing special on August 5th -- he just did what was right.
