Brewers pick up first baseman from Toronto in exchange for pitcher Marco Estrada
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Milwaukee Brewers acquired first baseman Adam Lind from the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for right-handed pitcher Marco Estrada.
Lind, 31, batted .321 with 6 HR and 40 RBI in 96 games this season. He made 79 starts (43g at 1B, 36g at DH). He has spent his entire nine-year Major League career (2006-14) with Toronto, batting .273 with 146 HR and 519 RBI in 953 games. His best season came in 2009 when he batted .305 with 35 HR and 114 RBI in 151 games, earning a Silver Slugger Award (DH).
Estrada, 31, went 7-6 with a 4.36 ERA in 39 appearances this season, including 18 starts. He spent five seasons (2010-14) in a Brewers uniform and went 23-25 with a 4.11 ERA in 139 games (70 starts). Estrada is eligible for arbitration.
