Brookfield Olive Garden rooftop fire; cardboard under HVAC unit ignites
TOWN OF BROOKFIELD, Wis. - Town of Brookfield firefighters were dispatched to the Olive Garden on Bluemound Road on Thursday evening, Jan. 9.
When firefighters arrived, they found smoke inside of the restaurant. Fire officials learned a contractor had been on the roof – and was replacing a new heating, ventilation and air conditioning unit. Officials say a piece of cardboard was left underneath the unit – and when the unit started up, the cardboard ignited.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire.

Several other fire departments from Waukesha County assisted.
Nobody was hurt.
