BROOKFIELD (WITI) -- Officials with Brookfield Square announced on Thursday, February 26th that construction is underway on a multi-million dollar expansion of the shopping center. The project will add approximately 20,000 square-feet of space, including three new restaurants, adjacent to Sears facing Moorland Road.
The new eateries, Jason’s Deli, Blackfinn Ameripub and Mooyah Burger, will each have their own exterior entrances. More new stores are expected to be announced as the project continues.
Phase one of the project is slated for completion by the end of the year. It is projected that throughout the first stage more than 300 jobs will be created including construction, skilled trades and service employees. Plans call for a second phase to begin in 2016 and be completed by 2018.
