Brown Deer apartment fire at Dean and Teutonia, 6 apartments damaged

North Shore firefighters were dispatched on Tuesday morning, Dec. 12 to a fire at an apartment building on W. Dean Road near N. Teutonia Avenue in Brown Deer.

The first firefighters on the scene found a fire in a second-floor apartment of an approximate 48-unit apartment complex. 

The building was evacuated – and the fire was brought under control in about forty minutes.

Three people were evaluated by paramedics for smoke inhalation. All three refused to be taken to a hospital for treatment.

Six of the apartments in the building are not currently habitable. North Shore Fire/Rescue is working with the American Red Cross to provide temporary re-location assistance.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brown Deer Police Department and North Shore Fire/Rescue.
