Brown Deer police officers, DPW crews work to rescue group of ducklings from storm sewer
BROWN DEER -- Officers with the Brown Deer Police Department are the latest to rescue a group of ducklings that found themselves trapped in a storm sewer on Tuesday, May 31st.
Brown Deer police teamed up with DPW officials for the rescue, which happened near 58th and Bradley Road.
The ducklings were reunited with their mother.

University of Wisconsin-Madison police this past weekend, Orescued seven ducklings stranded in the middle of campus -- near the Kohl Center and Student Union. Two officers stepped and helped the ducklings to a safe spot.
Just last week, Wauwatosa police rescued seven ducklings found in a storm sewer on the Menomonee River Parkway at Harmonee Avenue.
All seven of the ducklings were rescued and reunited with their mother.
And on Friday, May 13th, five ducklings were rescued by West Allis firefighters after they became trapped in a storm sewer near 67th and Lincoln. Those ducklings were placed near their mother, who was in the area. Two hours later, there were three ducklings in a storm sewer in the same location. Those ducklings were given by firefighters to a passerby to be taken to the Humane Society.
The fire department used a special duckling saving bucket, dubbed as the "Duck Saver 2000," designed by in-station personnel.
They're not ducklings, but on May 21st, drivers slowed down while on I-94 WB near 35th Street to allow a family of geese to cross safely.
