BUSTED! Racine police arrest three burglary suspects
RACINE (WITI) -- Racine police took three burglary suspects into custody early Monday morning, January 19th.
Officers responded to the area of 10th Street and Lake Avenue around 1 a.m. for reports of a burglary in progress.
Upon arrival, officers established a perimeter and ordered any occupants out of the home. At that time, one occupant exited the home and was detained for questioning.
After several failed attempts to get other suspects out, officers entered the home and searched. Officers located a site inside the home where building materials were being removed. Officers continued to search, and through additional information, anticipated the other suspects to be on the roof of the home.
Racine Fire Department was called to assist in the search of the roof of the home. Racine Fire Department used a bucket truck to place officers on the roof of the home.
Officers located two additional suspects on the roof and took them into custody.
All three suspects are being charged with burglary, criminal trespass, and possession of burglary tools.
