Caledonia barn fire; family's next steps
CALEDONIA, Wis. - A massive barn fire broke out in Caledonia on Saturday evening, Jan. 11.
What we know:
Officials said a passerby reported the fire, near 6 Mile Road and Howell Road, around 5:15 p.m. It was determined that two barns went up in flames; one barn was a workshop, and both barns had classic cars inside.
There are no fire hydrants in the rural area. All the water for the fire fight was brought in on 2,000-gallon tank trucks.

No one was injured.
The backstory:
Since 1912, the Caledonia farm has been a part of the Prochaska family.
It was a cabbage farm until the 90s, also known for its sweet corn sold out front.

What's next:
The family wants the community to know they plan to keep selling sweet corn this summer and they hope to rebuild.
"We’re hoping we’re going to get through this," senior partner Bob Prochaska said. "You hope that can be made out, caught quick and done with but this one got away."
