MEQUON, Wis. - A driver crashed into Ascension Columbia St. Mary's - Seton Professional Building in Mequon on Monday afternoon, May 8. Police said it appears that the driver, 77, accidentally hit the gas instead of the brakes when dropping someone off.
The wreck happened at the entrance to the Seton Professional Building.
In a statement, an Ascension Wisconsin spokeswoman said three people were hurt.
Mequon police said a Cedarburg man, 71, was about to walk into the building and suffered a head injury from broken glass and debris, but he was not hit by the vehicle.

We are proud of the prompt response by our associates and care team who reacted quickly when a car struck the Ascension Columbia St. Mary's - Seton Professional Building this afternoon in Mequon. Members of the ER team were swiftly deployed to the scene to evaluate and treat three people who were then transported to the Ascension Columbia St. Mary's Hospital - Ozaukee Campus emergency room.
"Patients who have appointments in the Seton Professional Building are able to enter through a separate entrance. We are fully cooperating with law enforcement in their investigation."
