Case New Holland workplace accident
A workplace accident at the Case New Holland plant in Mount Pleasant critically injured two people on Wednesday morning, May 29.
MOUNT PLEASANT, Wis. - Two workers at Case New Holland in Mount Pleasant were flown to a hospital after a forklift fell on them Wednesday morning, May 29.
Flight for Life and first responders rushed to rescue two men, ages 65 and 81. Investigators said the men had been using a forklift to move heavy cement blocks just before 10:30 a.m.
"What happened is these two people were trying to remove a chain that was stuck on the end of the forklift – it was stuck in the machinery," said Mount Pleasant Police Capt. Eric Relich.

The workers knocked the chain out and ended up trapping themselves. Relich said there was no hydraulic pressure, and the lift then fell on top of the two men.
"The lift fell on their legs, the lower leg areas from what I understand," Relich said. "Last report I got is that they are in good spirits, they are being treated for serious injuries."
