Casino celebrates "topping off" of hotel project

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Potawatomi Bingo Casino celebrated a milestone on Friday, November 1st with the topping-off ceremony of its $150 million hotel project. The hotel is located in front of the casino on Canal Street.

The final beam on the hotel was signed by Potawatomi Bingo Casino team members. It was lifted to the top of the 18-story hotel Friday morning.

"This hotel will provide another opportunity for us to shine as Wisconsin's premier entertainment destination," said Mike Goodrich, Potawatomi Bingo Casino General Manager. "In addition to elevating our casino property to a new level, the hotel will serve as a new icon in Milwaukee and another chapter in the storied history of this property."

The hotel was expected to have nearly 400 rooms including 16 suites and a presidential suite on the top floor. It will also feature a casual restaurant, lobby bar and a four-story parking structure. It is set to open to guests in fall 2014.
