Cassette tapes making a comeback, and you can thank millenials
MILWAUKEE -- First, it was the return of records -- and now, cassette tapes may be making a comeback!
The cassette was released in 1962, but it didn't gain popularity in the music industry until the 80s, before CDs and iPods.
Now, retail stores geared towards millenials are stocking cassettes and tape players on their shelves.
Recording artists like Lana Del Rey, Justin Bieber and The Weeknd have all released their most recent albums on cassette.
Despite this, cassettes still make up a very small portion of all music sales in the U.S.
