Cedarburg man arrested for allegedly impersonating officer

GERMANTOWN (WITI) -- Germantown police say an arrest is made after an Ozaukee County man allegedly impersonated an officer.

According to the Germantown Police Department Facebook page, on Saturday, October 19th, a female subject reported observing a dark, unmarked SUV, with red/blue lights on top that were activated two times traveled east on Freistadt Rd., north of Wasaukee Rd.

Officers met with an Ozaukee County deputy who responded to the registered owner's Cedarburg address. Officers made contact with the 42-year-old male driver. The suspect was taken into custody for impersonating a peace officer.

Mequon is investigating a prior incident involving the suspect vehicle.

Germantown Police Chief Peter Hoell credits the female caller for providing an excellent description and for obtaining the license plate number on the vehicle.
