Cedarburg Strawberry Fest returns
CEDARBURG, Wis. - Sunday, June 26 was a gorgeous day to enjoy Cedarburg's Strawberry Festival, and there's a lot of prep work that goes into feeding thousands of people.
"We purchased and roasted about 180 pounds of pork, about 240 pounds of chicken," said Eli Acosta, otherwise known as That Taco Guy.
He started this business for things like Strawberry Festival. He may not sell strawberries, but hundreds of vendors and businesses benefit from Cedarburg's largest festival.
This was the first year back since before the pandemic.
"It just feels right," said BJ Homayouni, festival board member.

He said a successful weekend is critical to keeping Cedarburg's other events on the schedule.
"We use Strawberry Festival funds to underwrite all the other festivals, so if this doesn’t go, a lot of times, the other festivals don’t go," he said.
Luckily, the weather did its part, and there are more festivals to come.
"It brings a lot of people, and it showcases the town, so it’s a wonderful thing to have this back," said Acosta.
The next festival is Sept. 17 – the Wine and Harvest Festival.
