Charges could come soon for New Berlin teacher accused of sexual contact with student
NEW BERLIN -- A New Berlin West High School teacher could be facing criminal charges by week's end. Police say the 28-year-old teacher is accused of sexual activity with a student.
Meeting of the School District of New Berlin's Board of Education
At a meeting of the School District of New Berlin's Board of Education on Monday, January 25th, parents had their first opportunity to voice concerns to the board about the alleged sexual contact between the teacher and a student that allegedly occurred off campus.
But those in attendance at the board meeting opted to stick to other topics.
Last week, FOX6 News told you about a teacher who was placed on unpaid leave.

New Berlin police say that female teacher is being investigated for possible sexual contact with a male high school student. Investigators believe the alleged contact happened off school property.
Police say they hope to wrap up this investigation and turn this case over to the Waukesha County District Attorney's Office by the end of the week.
At this point, the teacher has not been charged.
Throughout the past week, some parents have voiced concern.
"I don`t know what the details are, and I`m glad they are doing their investigation," one parent said.
A School District of New Berlin spokesman declined to comment on Monday because this is a personnel matter. He said the district will share more information when it can.
"Obviously not appropriate in school. There are a few people talking about it. You hear this all over the country -- teachers falling in love with students. It`s wrong," one parent said.

Investigators say the male student is under the age of 18.
Last week, school district officials released a statement addressing speculation about a number of personnel adjustments, saying none of them are related:
"There have been some recent staffing changes at New Berlin West High School. While there is much speculation about recent personnel adjustments, none of them are related.
Each involved unique and isolated circumstances. All personnel matters are handled with careful consideration by the district.
Our top priority is to ensure the best learning environment and quality of service for our students. We take seriously concerns raised by students, parents or staff and respond promptly to investigate and address those matters.
We cannot, however, release information related to personnel matters.
The district will not be making any other statement regarding these personnel matters at this time."
Police tell FOX6 News the case involving the 28-year-old teacher is the only criminal case they are working on concerning a teacher within the School District of New Berlin.
But again -- this teacher has not yet been criminally charged.
