Milwaukee man beaten to death, killers stole car: police

A Milwaukee man, beaten to death, also had his car stolen on the city's south side Tuesday night, Oct. 25. Police are searching for the killers, investigating the incident as a homicide.

A Milwaukee man, beaten to death, also had his car stolen on the city's south side Tuesday night, Oct. 25. Police are searching for the killers, investigating the incident as a homicide.

It happened near 5th Place and Chase Avenue. Police and public records show he was hit by the suspects around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday night, and the suspects took off in his car.

The victim, 46-year-old Rodney Surprise, died at the hospital Wednesday morning as a result of his injuries. His family is at a loss.

Surprise's mother told FOX6 that her only son was beat up after leaving a gas station, that he had brain damage, and that doctors could not stop the bleeding. Surprise's cousin said he was very family-oriented, and told FOX6 it shocks the conscience as to why someone would do something like this. 

A GoFundMe has been set up by Surprise's family to help with funeral costs.
