Coast Guard responds for boat suffering dead battery on Lake Michigan near Port Washington
MILWAUKEE -- The Coast Guard on Monday, August 1st responded to a disabled boat on Lake Michigan near Port Washington.
The call for this incident came in shortly before 6:00 p.m. -- after the boat sent a 'mayday' transmission.
No one responded when Coast Guard officials tried to make contact with the boat, and an hour later, another 'mayday' transmission came in.
Communication was then established between the boat and the Coast Guard.
No one was hurt, and no one ended up being in distress.
Officials with the Port Washington Fire Department towed the boat to shore. It suffered a dead battery.
